My 90g all-in-one tank build
I wanted to have a fairly large tank but didn't want to worry about flooding when I was out of town. So I came up with the idea to build a 90g tank with a hang on sump and refugium. I'm taking a standard 90g AGA tank (not RR) and will be adding a sump/fuge on the back of it. The sump/fuge will be the length and height of the tank, but only be 6" deep. It's going to be held to the tank with two 1" bulkheads (the weight will be resting on the stand) and will look something like this (please forgive my artistic deficiencies):
![]() Flow: Mag7 return pump (will go in the middle chamber) and 2 Tunze Nanostreams on a dual controller. Skimmer: Deltec TS1250 skimmer Lights: Here I'm torn. It will be either a TEK 6x54w T5 fixture or a Current Outer Orbit 2x250w HQI with 4x54w T5. What do you guys think? I could really use opinions on the lights. Thanks. |

Well, I've got the stand almost completed and I have the tank just sitting around waiting for the sump. The sump is being built this weekend and the stand will be stained and completed by next weekend. So the upgrade date looks to be March 14th.
I'll post some pics in the next couple of days. I could still use some opinions on lights. I've got a 6x54w TEK fixture but I'm starting to look at the sunlight supply Maristar and the Aquamedic Ocean light HQI/T5 combo lighting. This is going to be a mixed reef so I'm leaning toward the Maristar/Aquamedic. |

I decided to stick with the TEK 6x54w fixture. Now it's just a waiting game until setup day.
