2-5 watts/per depending on room temp.

I would recommend somewhere around 275 watts.

I have 2 200w heaters in my 90g - both in my sump, with one in the skimmer section, and the other in the return section.

You can do the 150w ones too, as jthao suggests, if you can find them.

I have 2 300 watts in my 55 gal.......Why 2?....Why such high wattage?....Well if one fails it can support the tank (if im away)...and my temp swings are litterally .5 degrees with lights on and lights off.....And oh yeah when I get a bigger tank......which everyone does .....I wont need to upgrade heaters

More watts=better. I have two 250w ebo-jagger in about 150gal system. I do agree with Burbs. 5watts per gallon is optimal.

My heater never turns on. The pumps and sump lights keep the temp pretty stable at night. I only get like a 2 or 3 degree shift from peak daytime high temps. I do still have one in the sump. I think it's a 150, I'm not really sure though.

I would definitely go with a couple small heaters. That way if one gets stuck on, it won't cook your tank as fast. You may be able to catch it. Hooking them up to a temp controller would add an extra measure of precaution.
