Petsmart Nano addictives sale for Nano tank
Went to Petsmart at Concord today, Kent Part A and B $3.99 (or 4.99) for each, and Reefchem Idione $2.99. Looks like a good price for Nano hobbist.
I've not dosed Idione before, going to try it in my nano soft and zoa tank. I remember Bonnie told me she dose that too Do I need to turn off the skimmer for a while after I dose idione? And how much I should dose, read the instruction, it sugguests dose every two days, is that too often? I only have four small zoa colonies and one hammer, one Xenia. |

If you ask people whether or not you should dose iodine in your reef tank, you're likely to hear yes and no depending on who you talk to. I don't think dosing it is entirely necessary. With the regular partial water changes you should be doing, I'd imagine that this would provide sufficient replenishment of iodine...esp. if you only have one stalk of Xenia (which sucks up iodine). If you had TONS of xenia and other iodine loving corals/inverts, then dosing iodine may be called for.
