Meaty food

I went to my LFS several weeks ago to pick up some blue legged hermit crabs. Not soon after, one started to molt. I went back to my LFS to see if they had extra shells. They didn't have "packaged" shells but did give me a few extra to tide me over. Well, one of them wasn't empty-looks like a mexican red legged hermit crab.

My question is, those invertibrates that take "meaty" food, such as this crab or the small, reef safe lobsters, what is a good type of food to feed them?

They will eat anything - you can go to a grocery store and get shrimp, clams, fish fairly cheap from the frozen food section near the meat counter. One small bag will last a long time. I have even purchased fresh shrimp 1/4 pound , cut it up , freeze it in small portions. They will scavenge what the fish don't get to.

let them scavage for food, they are part of your clean-up crew. the red leg i would remove, theyre not reef safe, and they are canibalistic.

OK, thanks for the advice! Just want to make sure I'm not "denying" anybody of food.
