suggestions on books
well being only 16 I have parents to live with and most of the time they have no idea what I am talking about or why I am buying a certain thing... I usually get a "you don't need that" even though I am paying for it.... anyway my dad wants to get a book on reef tanks so he can learn more about what I am talking about and what is going on in my tank..... can anyone suggest a good informitive book for him to learn about overall reef tanks? He wants to know mainly about sumps, lighting, etc to know what I am talking about when I tell him what I plan to buy/set up
thanks! |

For corals:
[ericsbook] For fish, Scott Michael's "Reef Fishes" is useful. He also has a series of more in-depth books.

The book above is a very good general reference book with lots of great photos, but if dad is curious about "what is going on" in your tank and how and why it works, Vol. 3 of the Reef Aquarium Book series by Delbeek and Sprung can't be beat. It's the one with the purple cover. I feel like I've read that book 50 times but learn something new almost every time I pick it up. I'm a dad, too.
