saltwater shelf life ?

If you removed salt water from a working, running reef tank into a 5g jug.

How long will that water stay good? Or is it re-usable?

As long as it dont get too warm or freeze. I am thinking it should last a week. As far as keeping bacteria alive. I know I kept a 55gal drum of a tank once when I was moving to a nother tank. 4weeks later I opened it and it smelled like a rotten egg fart. Witch it didnt bother me becuse it was going to be used to cure rock to start with (the smell did bother me ewww)

Reefing is'nt how long you been in it. It is how deep you get in it.

Current Tank Info: 400g display build, 300g sump, 75g ATO, 75g refug and a few more. Close to a 1000g. 200g mixing station.

I have the jugs on a heating blanket and holding at 74 degress.

I only plan to keep the water in the jugs for 2-3 days.
