Red Sea Prizm, but it wasnt cheap it was Ā£130 new which is $260 USD! I was cleaning it out once a week i switched to a modded seaclone and i know these arent the best skimmers either but it was pulling out at least half a cup a day for the next week.

I have had four skimmers, and each gets better.LOL In order from worst to best. 1 Seaclone I don't even think it knows what bubbles are, 2 cpr bacpac the big one, "this was next to useless", 3 prisim deluxe " honestly not bad when modded" and 4 a CSS 125 " I'm still not sure if the skimmer is no good or if I just have way to low of a bioload, with only 2 small fish and 1 crab in a 29 gal with 10 gal fuge.

Aqua C Remora Pro...Loud, unreliable and just can't handle a tank over 40G IMO.

...And at the time, I actually thought it was pretty good! hehehe

An Excalibur. No idea which skimmer to compare it to in today's world, but it's running right now. It came with the tank package as a gift and I have no idea how old it is or when people stopped using them. I can, however, guess why they stopped using them!

I had a Current Fission on a nano cube. It was just there for looks because it never skimmed a thing. Waste of $30.

It goes against everything you read, but my unmodded SeaClone 150 generates loads of thick dark skimmate. I really think people just don't know how to tune the Venturi valve on them. When you learn how to find the "sweet spot" they do a pretty impressive job.

I'm surprised about the Remora C Pro, justinpsmith. So many people claim those are some of the best ones on the market.

Skilter..LMAO!!!!.. those things are a waste of plastic..

Ok, here goes: (from bad to worst)

1- Deltec AP2602
2- BubbleKing 500 External
3- Tunze 9010

LOL..RIIIIGHT!

For me it has to be a Prizm then a Seaclone in close second ..

How do you mod the Prizm Pro Deluxe? I have one and it decides to work sometimes, minimally........

I know, I'm working on getting a new one, that is one reason I am selling a couple of my things.

But if I can make this one work better for now, it helps.

Mine was the worst. Maybe slightly above not having a skimmer at all.. and that's questionable. It has no fancy name, no brand to bear. It came built into a generic sump I got from DrsFosterSmith about 5 years ago. It's produced maybe a 1/2 cup of skimmate since then. I've had all sorts of corals and fish. I attribute none of my success to that skimmer. Maybe it's all due to the fact that the tank is very old and well established. It is the "worst" skimmer. Anybody want to buy a used sump?
