artifical live rock construction
I am VERY new to the sport, and want to build a "live rock" structure to go along with my real-live rock. I have seen several examples of this, and wanted to know if anyone had ideas on how/where/what to start. I have a very talented family member who can help with construction, to make sure it is safe and sound, however, wanted tips on the materials. thanks to anyone with advice. Raen

To Reef Central I would start by figuring out what kind of rockwork structure you want (rock wall, towers, caverns...etc) and then find out how much space you have, and make frame work out of some PVC or eggcrate. Then its all about figuring what kind of rock you want to use, selecting the right size and securing. Some people us zipties, some use epoxy. I prefer epoxy. Hope this helps some. |
