Sliding Light frame
G'Day,
I am going to be setting up my lighting frame above my 8'x3'x2.5' high tank. There will be a combination of 3 x 400w Mh Lumen Brights and some T5. The lighting setup will be divided into three sections and each section needs to be movable to the side allowing full access to each section of the tank once moved. I am just looking for options / ideas, maybe some photos of what some of you guys have done. I very much appreciate any help and pics. Thanks Tony. |

My light rack consists of one frame for all of the lights but it would not be difficult to build seperate racks by adding a third pocket door rail. The last link also contains links to other build threads with light racks.

Kingsland,
Thanks for your reply and the links you provided, they have helped with some decisions I had to make on how I was going to do things. I think I need to run two low profile tracks the length of the tank plus. From those two rails I will make up 3 separate frames which will be the full width of the tank from front to back allowing me to position the reflectors from front to back in the frame, the frames also need to be able to be moved either left or right allowing full un-restricted access to the tank which is what I need to achieve. Once again thanks for your reply and any other photos or advice would be appreciated, the more the better, helps with making the right decisions. Cheers Tony. |

Tony,
Your are very welcome. Your plan seems like it will work well. Please post some pictures when you get a chance.
