upgrading an RO/DI unit

Is there anyway to upgrade an RO/DI unit to a higher daily output of RO water???

I initially purchased a 35 gpd RO/DI unit and as I'm upgrading my tank I'd like to have at least a 100 gpd unit. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the RO/DI units and their ability to produce different amounts of RO water (35gpd vs 100 gpd) is the size of the membrane. All the other equipment prior to the membrane (sediment and carbon filtration) is pretty standard on all units correct???

Would I be able to buy a larger membrane housing which fits a 100 gpd membrane and simply hook it up to my current set up??? If so, where could I buy just the membrane and membrane housing??? What brand/type of membrane could I buy that will provide me with the cleanest water (or are they all the same)???

Thanks.

Jeremy

Go to the sponor forum Thefilterguys.biz or Buckeyefieldsupply, call them, they will set you up. I think the 75gal is better then 100gal less TDS's.

If your old ro/di system uses 10" housings (which most do) then all you need is a new membrane, and a new flow restrictor.

I'd stick with a 75 gpd as it has a 98% rejection rate, a 100 GPD has a 90%.

Here are some good places to start. and if you still not sure just log into there forums and ask what you need. there all good vender's.

Thanks very much everyone. I suspected I could just change the membrane and flow restrictor and I'd be good to go.Looked like the membrane housing was the same.

I'll check out those links and do some calling around and see what I can come up with.

Thanks again.
