What order should these be in?
Can someone tell me what order of sequence the following should be plugged in:
Equipment such as skimmer, heater, etc. GFI Surge Protection strip Should I plug the piece of equipment into the GFI and then have the GFI plugged into the power surge strip and the strip plugged into the outlet. Would this be the correct order or should the order of the GFI and power surge strip be reversed? Thanks, Gary |

What if one item trips the gfi, then everything loses power. Try to keep your main return seperate from the other items. |

Thanks guys. My next question would be the location to keep all of this at. Should the gfci and powerstrip be kept inside the cabinet under my tank? Where do you guys store your gfci, powerstrips? Just seems to be a bad place if there were ever a leak or worse yet, a flood. Thanks again.

Anbody else care to chime in? Do I need to plug the GFCI into the power strip or the power strip into the GFCI? I've recieved opposing views on this and I am sure there could only be one corrrect answer. To protect my equipment and more importantly myself from possible electrocution, what is the correct answer?

I bought a portable GFCI from HD. It gets plugged into the receptical on the wall. It only takes up one of the outlets. I went GFCI to power strip to equipment.

Whatever you do, keep your recirc pump directly plugged into the wall. No GFI. If you over amp a piece of equipment, you will loose your circ pump if it's plugged into a GFI.
