drip acclimation question

When you do drip-acclimation, do you worry about temperature?

I've read many articles & posts about drip-acclimation. You setup a bucket and let tank water drip to it on a 1 drip/sec pace. It's a slow rate. If room temperature is different than water temp, after I finish my drip-acclimation, the water temp in my bucket doesn't match water temp in my tank. Do I need to worry about it when I put the fish in?

thanks

I have wondered the same thing! I don't actually have enough space and everything around my tanks to drip acclimate, but I've always had success by floating the bag containing the livestock in the tank and adding small amounts of water from the tank (from an eye-dropper or syringe) into the bag, when I've doubled the volume I pour out half and then repeat the process 'til the volume is doubled again. This is about as close to drip acclimation as I could come up with, and it takes care of any temperature concerns. ::cringes at the messages I'll probably get assailing my methods::

If I have few things I'll transfer them to the collection cups that LFS use and hang them in my sump. I then drip from the DT into these cups that are sitting in the sump. By having them in the sump I'm adjusting to temp while dripping.

If I have a lot or something to big for the collection cups I drip first then float for 15 then transfer.

if there is room in the sump, put the bucket (make sure its clean) into the sump while drip acclimating.. this will end your worries of temperature

I have drip accli, ated every one of my fish 12 Never lost one It is not that long unless you r house is freezing or sweltering hot I don't se eit needed a big hassle
But I am sure some people on here will look for a way to make it a scarey and nerve racking process .

It is usually about 1 hour for a acclimation as I do and they are fine.

Just remember not to dump them in then the lfs usually uses metal in their water and that will kill your rock so after you are done take the fish out by hand or carefully with a net and swap

I'm using a similar method now. I want to find a simpler process.

My plan is using put some kind of collection cup in my QT. Pure tank water in a small bucket raised above my QT and use a small hose & valve adjuster to start process.

Can I get the collection cup from petco or petsmart kind of store?
