I don't think you want to keep two even if you could, mine makes a gig enough mess in the tank by himself.

I have a jawfish and hardly see it except it comes out of it's hole to eat but never swims further than 3 inches from his burrow which is in the back of my L/R.

that's unusual. Typically, they are quite nosey and want to see all the action. I've had 3, lost the first to jumping, lost the second in a move. This current one, and its two predecessors built burrows right up front. I don't have a DSB, but I piled enough sand into a corner. They build a tunnel under rocks with a few different entrances. Mine is quite personable and usually comes out when I'm near the tank.

The funniest thing he does is baracade himself in at night using snail or hermit crab shells. He doesn't seem to care if the inhabitant is still in the shell when he does it, so sometimes his front door crawls away.

I had 2 at once and for a while they shared a burrow. After all they were in the same tank at the FS. But one of them eventually jumped. That doesn't answer your ? and i don't know if keeping 2 in the same tank facilitated the jump, but it's just my experience with keeping 2 at the same time.

jawfish will make their own den if you put small pieces of live rock in the tank for them to pick up and move they will make one themselves.

I have a yellow head that made its burrow in the front under the rock. He is always out and looking around just stays close to home. A great addition to my tank and the favorite of my wife.

yea he is my fav. fish too. lol but he's the only fish so far. i'm still waiting for my snowflakes. i'm nervous to put 2 in the tank because if they start fighting it will be really hard to get one out.
