Sand bed

I want to redo my nano tank. Since there is no sump and too small to have a DSB. Is it better to just make it a bare bottom??

Just use powerhead, heater and live rocks?

In your case I would use a shallow sand bed .. barebottom tanks tend to work best when they have high water flow (keep the crud from settling on the bottom) combined with a sump and good skimmer (removes the crud in the water column).

I agree with kevin2000.... just use about 1" or so of sand.
