Filter ?, need advice

Would a canister filter, it's a three or four stage with UV 9 watts rated for 70 gallon tank work on my 72 gallon? I plan to run the filter into a 20 gallon refugium then back to the tank. I'm thinking if I have both it would be plenty but being new to this what do I know. Thanks for all of your help. Glad someone told me about this site.

My opinion is that over filtration is better than under-filtration...If you have 90 gal of water in your system you should get a filter that is rated above that.

I have never used a canister though, so it could be different in your case
