light fixture size?

i'm setting up a 55g and am considering a aqualight pro hqi or orbit hqi t5, BUT they are 15" wide and my tank is only 13" wide. anyone using a setup like this? will light shine over the sides? do you have to move the fixture to feed? also considering a current sun pod because it's only 8" wide' but don't want to lose the atinics. any help would be great.
