Any good?
Any options to Salifert which is unavailable?

I didn't have very good experiences with my Red Sea test kits, and had to return them. The problem supposedly is the liquid reagents, which are easier to use, but are said to be less stable.
Some of the total hardness kits from Hach or LaMotte might be useful, although I'm not sure of that. Hopefully, someone will have some comments on them.

![]() Yes, I'm afraid the Red Sea isn't very reliable. Until the Salifert mag kits come available again, I have found the Elos to be pretty accurate. The only caveat is, it only measures in 100ppm increments. This can be cut to 50 ppm by doubling the water sample but of course this uses almost double the reagent. Yet I have found it quite accurate and worth the bucks since we do not test mag that often. ![]() |
