Phosban, Rowa, Purigen, Phosar?
I need a reasonably priced product to keep my phosphates down. I already have 2 Phosban reactors. which media is most effective and lasts the longest?
Always have run carbon. Now I hear Purigen might be better. Can it be run in reactor? What is t6he best carbon that wont leach phosphates back? What a confusing hobby. Currently running a 90 gallon tank. |

ROWAphos gets my vote. The purigen product had gotten good reviews, but the ROWAphos is by far the best. I have not heard of anyone iwht bad results using that product and I have used the Phosban, Phosguard and ROWAphos myself. It seems really expensive, but I found it cost me less, as it required less frequent replacement. I only replace my PO4 media when I can detect it only test kit. HTH.
