Wrasse question...

Just wondering how long some of you have gone without seeing your wrasse....the main concern is that I havent seen mine during feeding time for 2 days now. Its a Melanarus wrasse btw.

Well, these responses make me feel better about his health....however, not much better about why I purchased a fish that I will never see.

My melanarus hid for a few days. Sand sleeping wrasses take longer to adjust to the schedule IME.

I have had one MIA for 2 weeks once. I bought a melanarus from live aquaria last week and interesting enough after acclimation he never hid. He was out and about from the first minute and ate like a pig day one. This is the rare exception though. I was very surprised.

I once had a chiseltooth wrasse that disappeared for about a week; It was bad...I could not for the life of me find it; must have buried itself and hibernated for a while. I thought for sure it was dead. Then out of the blue! BANG...he reappears!

Yeah...I was a bit caught off guard there too. But wrasses do that.

Well, I still havent seen him. He was out the first day (the day he was added) and ate fine. He was not a hider at the LFS either time I saw him there. Guess I will just wait and see. I will surely see some sign of him eventually, dead or alive. The tank isnt THAT big.
