Is it necessary to turne off protein skimmer when dosing marine snow ?

i don't see why you would need to, plus they usually specify things like that on the packaging i believe

Bear in mind that Marine Snow is 99% water.

I think it does say to discontinue protein skimming on the package. I have avoided purchasing it due to that reason. Have been using Coral Frenzie instead with great results.

Marine Snow is not worth the bottle it comes in IMO.

I believe it is actually made out of snow....which thru some chemical reaction turns to water
