I've had him one day, and haven't seen him eat yet. The guy I got it from said he was eating pellets. I think I might try some frozen foods.

Pretty small yet. About 2-3 inches. I guess even the dwarf varieties get to be 7+ inches. So he's just a baby.

I think these dwarf lions are really cool-looking. What sort of a tank are you putting this little guy in? What will his co-inhabitants be? Any inverts?

I plan on putting him in my 55 reef tank. There's hermit crabs, a green emerald crab, and snails. The only other fish in there are a lantern bass and a false percula clownfish. Do you think he'll try to eat everything?

He wouldn't touch pellets, so I threw in some frozen mysis shrimp, and he gobbled him up.
Here's some more pics:

Whatever he can hold in his mouth, he will try to eat.

Hmmm, I might have to re-think where I'm going to put him.
Do you think he would be okay with a snowflake eel in a 40 long? or 55? They both eat similar things, so then I could keep that whole tank crab-free, and feed them both frozen shrimp. They are both juveniles, so they would be growing up together. That might increase the chances of successfully keeping them together.

I keep a snowflake eel & a fuzzy dwarf in the same tank with a bunch of hermit crabs. They dont touch them... my snowflake eel likes to take mysis from the crabs when they catch one, but other than that, I dont notice any agressisons between them. I woudlnt recomend any shrimp unless they are to become fish food though. my snowflake was about 6 inches long when & I got him & the lion was about 2 inches. they get along great.

Is there anyone out there that has had problems with their fuzzy dwarf eating hermit crabs and/or snails?

i dont think they are built to eat shelled inverts like hermits or snails. they will eat any fish or shrimp they can fit in their mouths though from what i have read.

hopefully some more people will chime in who have owned them
