Two tanks, one sump - general plumbing question...
I am planning on hooking up two 30 gallon tanks to one sump and am just wondering what are the considerations in deciding whether to get a big return pump and tee it off to both tanks or have independent ones for each pump. I assume it doesn't really matter but just wanted to check and see if there was something I wasn't thinking of.

I currently have a 300g and 125g sharing a sump with one return pump with a tee. Have to make SURE that if the system loses power the sump can hold all the water that will drain back in.
I always test this by turning off the return pump and see to it that the sump can in fact hold all the water that drains back. Besides that haven't had any other issues what so ever. Jim Mc |
