Question recommended circulation pump?

What's a good circulation pump to use? I currently use Rio 2100, however, some folks have told me these tend to melt down and let copper loose?

yeah, mine's been running for about three years as well, and previous to that one, I had an identical one also for another three years, but still concerned about possible issues. If there's a remote chance it might happen, I'd rather switch pumps.

There are several "high flow" powerheads that could work for you depending on your setup, what you want accomplish (flow wise), and how much you want to spend.

Tunze
Seio
Koralia
Vortech
Maxi-Mod

are seio notorious for having issues such as rio? They're from the same manufacturer

I own both, and have not had any trouble with either. But it is interesting, that there does not appear to be the complaints about the Seio causing catastrophic failures like its sister (Rio).

I currently own a Seio, and have a Tunze, MJMod, and a Koralia # 4 in my main tank. IMO, each of these has it pros and cons depending on what you want to do.

Tunze - Strong flow, reliable, a little bulky, a little expensive
Seio - Strong flow, configurable, a little bulky, a little hot, affordable
Koralia - Wide flow, cool design, bulky, affordable
Vortech - NR (I could not justify the price, but I hear good things)
Maxi-Mod - Strong flow, reliable, very affordable

i would switch to an eheim, ocean runner or mag the ocean runners are cheap and realiable at about $70.

as for cir i would do koralia's for the most affordable

maxis are good but run hot just like mags

Not exactly. Koralia pumps have a more dispersed flow than Tunze.
