Sump return pump question
I was looking at this page and noticed that his pump turns on and off. I had thought, to this point, that the pump would run continually.
The water overflows into the overflow box, runs down to the sump, runs through the sump, and goes back to the display tank via pump, this water being pumped back into the display tank makes it overflow into the overflow box where the cycle starts all over again. Could I leave it running constantly, or should I do what his picure showed. Was the pump turned off in the picture just to show what would would happen if it was turned off so you know to leave room for more water? |

The pump should run all the time. And yes, he showed it turning off to give an example of leaving room for your plumbing to drain so you don't overflow your sump
