First tank death... or was it?

Came home to check out the tank and I looked in the corner and saw my poor peppermint shrimp that I just put in there 2 days ago floating upside down . But upon further investigation it looked a little white and clear and I came to the conclusion that it just molted, phew! Darn thing was in there less than 48 hours before it shed its skin, I am going to go get some Iodine tonight and put it in since I have no fish in there and therefor no feed so no natural source of Iodine.

very common when first introduced. I'd skip the Iodine. If it molted that quick it's usually an indication there's plenty of what they need in the water.

My tank is new though, only been up almost 2 weeks. The cycle finished in 3 days because I used LR and LS from a LFS sump. I put in my cleaner crew and peppermint shrimp 2 days ago to start cleaning up the aiptasia and algae growing on the rocks/glass.

Even more reason to skip the iodine. It's been proven to be pretty worthless if you do regular water changes.

Ok sweet, I looked for the shrimp and saw him chilling in the cave with his buddy so they are doing good, just ignoring my aiptasia lol

That sounds like a lot like the PS I have had - ignoring the aiptasia.
