Aptasia--Yes, that's what I was thinking of. Thanks so much because for the life of me I couldn't remember what they are called!

Some of them will develop a taste for LPS corals.

I used a double saddle back butterfly to work on my aiptasia problem. Just about 2 months ago. This species was the
Chaetodon ulietensis He did a great job of getting every single one of them (hundreds to thousands) within one week. However, even with regular feedings, he became interested in many of my corals, particularly my frogspawn and my goniopora. He ended up killing the goniopora (still won't extend polyps and has a slime infection now) and reduced the frogspawn from 7 heads to 2 (It's recovering). He also picked off all the skirts from my palys and picked at my zoas. Oh, and he completely tore apart my trachyphyllia. I pulled him out after two weeks. |
