black background tank with black sand?
I have a new tank with a black background, would there be too much black with black sand?

black sand
Hiya:
I have the exact same setup in 3 of my tanks, My Solana 34gal, my 35 gal hex as well as my 28 gal nano cube all of which have black backgrounds. I used Natures Ocean black sand, however note that black sand is never BLACK, but more of a really dark brown. Regards, Estefano |

It's a matter of choice and what you are trying to create. I prefer white sand as it helps reflect the ligtht back up in the tank. I had a black background for years on my tank and one day decided to change it to blue. I have to admit the blue background really helped brighten the tank even more. The black background does conceal powerhead etc. I chose the brightness instead.
Once again it depends on what you are trying to achieve aesthetically. |

I think it would be a very striking tank. I would personally love it. I think you should go for it, I really wish I would have gone with black sand (I also have a painted black background).
