Actinic VHO Question?

I was wanting to add another set of 6' VHO's to my 210. i have the bulbs and mounts so all i would need is the ballast. So my question is, because i would rather spend that money elsewhere, could i double the time my current vHo's are on and get the same results??? i realize i would go through the bulbs twice as fast but i wouldn't need to buy another ballast. Does anyone have any input to help me???

Time does not equal intensity, so in that respect doubling the time of exposure will not get what you are trying to accomplish
