How Long....

Basically, i was wondering how long i can run my tank without anything in side except live rock and sand. I had a recent catostrophee and i don't want to put anything in the tank for a while, but also don't want to loose what life i have in there......

Should be fine for a couple weeks, but you could also throw some food in everyonce in a while and let it rot giving the bacteria something to feed on.

Almost infinitely if you have live rock. A few months "uninhabited" can be great for your tank. If you don't have fish your microfanua population will explode.

I would add an air stone and make sure there is decent flow in the tank--especially keeping the surface churning for gas exchange

well right now i have the return tube of my fluval 305 about 3/4s all the way down in my tank, creating a ligh current over the sand bed......with a aqua clear 70 hanging over the back of the tank directly over the fluval return. on the other side of the tank i have a AC power head 50 creating a current on both the top and bottom thanks to the positioning.

do u think thats enough?
