Gen X 40 pump...

Can I put a ball valve on the 3/4" return from this pump...will it affect its performance????

Yes you can add one, perferably with a true union so you can remove the pump. I have mine tee'ed off before the valve so the restricted water goes back into the sump. Either way is fine.
