New skimmer leaking. Setup help?
So I just picked up this skimmer
http://www.pacificcoastimports.com/p...ys%3D%26pg%3D2 It's leaking from where the pump intake meets the seal. Should I take it apart and try to find something, or is there something in particular I should be looing for. Thanks

Make sure you have the gasket installed...

It came fully assembled. There were no gaskets to install. I did use PVC glue n the return portion but did not mess with the pump at all.
Here is a pic, sorry about the link.

It might possibly just need a lube to help the seal.

I'm willing to bet that they either forgot the gasket, or it got shifted around... I say this, because I have assembled several of these skimmers and reactors, and have accidently done left the gaskets out from time to time myself.

Took it back to my LFS
There was a problem with the connection of the intake of the pump with the chamber, the gasket, the O ring on the pump, the connection between the return of the pump and the chamber, the air intake, and the connection between the drain of the chamber and the plumbing. All things that come preassembled. My LFS was awesome in fixing all of it for me. Took nearly two hours to find and fix everything. Awsome LFS, really crappy manufacturing. It is running now, for about 6 hours. Great amount of bubbles, not seeing any build up to create skimmate yet, but that might be a break in period. I have never had such problems with any piece of equipment I have purchased. So happy my LFS is so good to make it right. Go Waves Marine in Portland Oregon!

5 days after it was fixed it is working beautifully. Puls out a great amount of skimmate, nice thick foam, just kinda loud for my tastes.
