giesemann megachrome coral and blue

Has anyone seen or used the giesemann megachrome coral 14.5k and/or blue 22k? Trying to decide on one or the other- thinking blue might not be enough for my anemones.

I also have the megachrome coral (14.5K). Monster output, great growth, very white. I like the results, but am considering adding blue (450-460nm) T5 supplements of just going to phoenix to get more blue. I used to run hamilton 14k. Nice color, but mediocre PAR.

I would suggest that if you want a bluer looking DE bulb than the Geisemann Coral, go to the Phoenix 14K or maybe another bulb. I haven't used it, but the output is good and people and pictures say its quire blue.

BTW, I am assume you are DE for some reason. If you are SE with M80 (HQI) ballasts, I think you can consider Aquaconnects or Radiums formore blue with good to great output.

I'm using SE bulbs with an electronic ballast, so the phoenix DE are out.

I was told by Jason at premium aquatics that the giesemann bulbs use a "True Kelvin" scale so the 14k is similar to a 12k refflux.

That appears to be the case. I was hoping it was a little more blue, and according to JMaxwell's post, I may be right if he's thinking of adding more actinic supplementation.

Might go with the 22k.
