Polyfilter leaking phosphates???

Is it true that poly filter can leak phosphates?? and if so what should be used to polish the water... im having a haie algae problem and my toothbrush and turkey baster is getting tiried!!! what about a phosban reactor?

it can leach phospahates if/when it becomes saturated. some phosphate removers can also do that though so if you go the reactor route GFO is probably your best bet
