Splashing Panther Grouper cracked UV shield!
Caught my Panther Grouper who's rehoming in a larger tank. In the process he splashed (turns out he didn't like air) one of my UV shields on my fixture (open top). Well, as everyone knows, when a high temperature piece of glass gets in contact with cool water, PRESTO, glass bomb Questions: will any glass work? As in annealed/plate? Or does it have to be tempered? Also, some shards might still be in the tank...but I didn't think it would be a problem since the tank is in fact made of glass . Does anyone think otherwise?

You're probably right on the shards. I hope the local glass store has some scrap 1/4" laying around. I only need a 4x8" piece.
