Bangai Cardinal - SicK??
We have a 3 month old 60 gallon tank. Without getting too detailed on the tank at this point, we have a Bangai Cardinal that, since yesterday, has had a long (approx 1/2" - 2") white 'string' coming out below the front and rear fins. Yesterday it was just the string. Now tonite it appears that there is a silver/blueish bubble on either side of the 'string' right at the 'exit'.
We only have one BC so it's not eggs.... Can anyone give some idea of what this is? |

Possibly an internal parasite/worm, unless it's poop.
You could try posting in the disease forum.

To Reef Central Have you added anything new to the tank? How long have you had the fish?

We've added 2 dozen turbo snails and a variety of crabs, about a dozen total. We've have the fish since the beginning, so three months now. We also have 3 blue/green chromis and 2 clowns. Everyone and the corals seem healthy, except now for this....
Since the string is white and almost looks knotted, it doesnt appear to be poop, especially with the 'bubbles'. Thanks for the info and questions. |
