Reducing Waterfall Noise

Okay, I just got my new Sunpod light fixture and have gone topless on my BC29 but the waterfall noise of the water spilling over from chamber 1 into chamber 2 is quite loud...there has to be a mod to reduce that noise right? I was thinking of maybe attaching that piece of sponge I took out of my 3rd chamber to the wall between chambers 1 and 2 so the water would splash into that and drain into the 2nd chamber but I removed that sponge originally because I thought it would be a nitrate trap and am hesitant to use it for the noise reduction for that reason. Any thoughts?

The thing is it's the 2nd chamber that has the problem and that is where I have my Tunze 9002 skimmer which requires the water to be a precise level.

Put a brick of foam where the water hits.

I just got the SR3 skimmer and after putting it on the second chamber it also had a bit louder waterfall noice. I used this to fish it

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...31&pcatid=4231

it just cut a square the size of the sponge and rested it righ where the waterfall is and now is quiet. i also cut a 3" by 6" piece of that filter and floded it and placed it where the sponge used to be.

Yeah, use the sponge where the water hits. It should keep it quiet, but needs to be kept clean.

I just got the Tunze magnet mount for my 9002 skimmer and raised it up higher and raised the water level up with it and walaa, no more waterfall noise. Let me tell you, those Tunze magnets are POWERFUL...holy schnikies, got a good blood blister on the tip of one of my fingers when trying to pull them apart...lol.
