Question CUC Recommendations

Hi all, i will be going down to LFS on friday to purchase CUC for my new TL-450.

Has anyone got any recommendations as to the numbers i should get, i was thinking about 2-4 Red Leg Hermits, 4-6 assorted snails, 1 peppermint shrimp (for a couple of very small aiptasia i have), 1 cleaner shrimp.

I will get more in time but i thought about this amount for time being as i don't want things to start starving due to lack of food what do you think?

Cleaner shrimp won't be necessary at this stage. He cleans fish more than he does sand, rock and glass. You will have to feed it also.

What type of sandbed do you have? You might want to consider a detrivore kit with mini stars, spagetti worms and bristle worms if you have a DSB. Its nice to get that started at the begining of a tank.

Snails are you best to start with and I like the Nassarius and cerith snails the best.

Scarlet hermits are the most peaceful but still can be trouble.

Peppermint shrimp are fine.

Nassarius, ceriths, nerites, turbos, astraes all snails I would recommend. Scarlet hermits also. Stay away from other hermits cus they will kill the snails for their shells. Peppermints are good and I suggest u get the cleaner cus they do pick on rocks and sand a pinch of food to get ur tank going is not a bad thing and also provides ur cuc some food.
