few questions for new tank

okay so sometime this week I am going to order a AIO nano either 30g finnex or CAD sig 39g (cant decide!)so anyway had a few questions...

what LR does everyone like? I currently have fiji in my 55g, but it just seems so...dead, doesnt even have bristleworms! any suggestions on some LR I can buy online that has good colors/shapes would be great.

what substrate should I use? I currently have CC in my 55 and do not want to make that mistake again.

right now I am using instant ocean and since I am changing tanks this gives me a good chance to get a different salt. I have heard tropic marin pro reef is a very good salt for reefs, should I give it a try?

thanks!

Well to me liverock doesn't matter because i can buy fiji and branching but after coralline they would look almost the same so buy fiji (cheap) and grow some coralline also worms and junk will eventually hitch also i would recommend buying it locally (from a reefer quiting or for cheap) because shipping will cost you the same as buying it from the LFS.

Any sand but not super fine also if you can do a DSB (helps and looks nice) because in a system that small you wouldn't have to buy much and it will aid in the filtering.

Yes tropic marin/pro is good (actually the best) but is very pricey, i use reef crystals from instant ocean because it is cheap and has levels i can live with plus drs. foster and smith has em for $32 a bucket compared to $60

well with a 39g a bucket would last a long time and I have about 60 lbs of fiji right now and it has been in there for months and I've done everything possible to find bristleworms, I think I might buy a detrivore kit as part of my CuC after the cycle which shouldn't be long...

thanks!

There is a seller on ebay that has been good to me, sells live rubble rock for $2-$3 per pound. PM me if you are interested.
