mixing phosban and activated carbon

anyone know of any problems that would arise from mixing phosban and activated carbon in a phosban reactor??

not sure if there is problems with it so to speak...
Purachem makes there reactor media with GFO and AC...

the only problem i see with it is that GFO lasts for months where as AC should only be used for a couple weeks or so...once run through a reactor you wont be able to separate the two and you will have wasted the GFO changing the carbon out..

I run them together and replace every month. I just use a smaller quantity of the GFO.

I have read here that running the two is not a good idea because the phosban needs the space to heave slightly and looseness to allow more surface area adsorbtion

Place the charcoal on the bottom of the reactor. That allows the top phosban layer to behave just like it does when it is the only media in the reactor.

I've heard that carbon is harder than phosban and will grind it up. Or maybe the other way around.
