Hydor FLO Rotating Deflector
How do these work? Can these just plug into the return on a biocube 29. I have heard lots of good reviews and im debating on one of these if i can hook it up the the return outlet or a y conector with 2 flare nozels.

No idea about you application of the device . . I don't have a biocube. I have two on powerheads and they work as advertised. Not particularly durable -- I've replace each once in 2 years. The cogs wear if large snails hang out on them too much.

I have one on my nano cube. It just replaces the loc line. It slows flow a little, but I think it is well worth it. It also looks a lot better in a small tank if you cut off the flat circular part on the back.

Im about to order it or a 6" straight peice flexible ballsocket with a Y fiting and 2 flare nozels. Witch do you think would have the best outcome. I only plan to keep shrooms and zoas.

I think it'd work great. Like amutti said you may have to replace them in a year or so if the cogs wear out but for $13 its worth it. You do lose a little flow so be ready for that.
The new one I got recently didn't even have the flat circular part in back making it a little less conspicuous.

Both of mine stopped rotating within a year. Eventually the plastic piece that holds everything together becomes loose enough that the gears just slide past each other. Not built to last IMO.

I have had mine for almost 3 years now. I have to take it apart every once in a while to clean it, but it works great after that.
I'm glad to hear they removed that hideous flat part that served no purpose.

Well thx much for all the info. I went for the Y and flexible ballsocket with 2 flow nozzles. Should work just fine i liked the sound of the wave maker and liked how it stimulates currnet but dont like losing any flow. If this isnt enough i might try it.
