Egg Crate blocking T5 light?

Hi,

I placed egg crate on top of my 90 gallon tank to avoid fish jumping out and killing themselves.

I am thinking to get 6x54 T5 from ReefGeek, and I was wondering if the egg crate would be an issue in terms of melting down, or even blocking too much light. What do you guys think?

Should I worry about how much light this egg crate would block? Any alternative to egg crate?

Thank you

Go to the hardware store and buy the parts to make a screen door. Cut the frame and mesh to your tank size and there you go.

Would you like to explain that? I use it over my 90. It does block a little light, but my fish will not get through it.

i am not concern about the "visual" light been blocked; I am more concerned about the actual "intensity" loss in terms of PAR.
