Want a light blue tint
I just got a Outer Orbit fixture that includes 2 150 MH 10,000k and
4 54 watt T5 with 2 each of 420nm and 460nm. When I'm running all the lights together, the MH totally drown out the T5's. It's very white and bright. Now I like my tank bright but also want a blue tint to it. What DE bulb is recommend for a nice blue tint and good PAR value ? I was thinking a 12,000 or 14,000k bulb, but don't know which brand to got with. Thanks |

most 14k bulbs are junk as far as par goes, research them if you want a 14k bulb.
if you want a nice colored bulb, buy a 20k xm. this is a 20k xm bulb.

I have the 250w orbit fixture and had the same problem, I just switched my bulb to the phoenix 14k and it's freaking awesome!
I think they come in 150w as well. |

There's lots of options for ATO. I use a controller with injection pump to deliver Kalk as necessary. It works gr8 for me.

for ATO:
do it yourself- melevsreef.com commersial- autotopoff.com for me it was not worth making for a few bucks less, making mistake and burning my house down. best $80 ive spent in this hobby yet.

I agree with 14k
Have you checked Sanjay's sight yet to find the best combination of bulbs for your ballast?
