Skimmer Skimming Water

Hi, I have a Current HOB Protein Skimmer rated for 105 Gallons, and it is just skimming water. I just set it up, and it did skim 1 cup of gunk, but now it is just skimming water.

It is also giving me a cup of water per 20minutes too, how can I stop this, there is this blue turning thing, duno if I Should Turn it? or not.

skimming water

Either your skimmer exit is high and allowing too much water to overflow in to the cup. If your skimmer is filling above the bottom of the neck of the skimmer cup it will just fill with water. You need to use what ever adjustment whether a valve or a raisable exhause. You should keep the level at the level just at the bottom of the cone. The foam will build on itself and raise into the cup. What skimmer are you usingn and I may be able make a more specific suggestion.
