Can all you experts provide me with your opinion on the best bang for your buck refractometer.

The Sybon seems to be very popular. I've had one for a couple years with no problems. Just make sure to calibrate it with a good Salinity solution; Pinpoint makes some. Don't use the water that comes with it.

I got mine for pennies on the dollar on Ebay, got it from the seller Greatdel for only $20 including shipping and it works great, and is surprisingly durable and high quality.

that is cheap! looks decent quality too. the one i had was off ebay as well but from a canadian seller... it was great, but after 4 years, some reason inside the lense part, the magnifing glass part popped off... still works but i gotta shake it a little sometimes to get it back in place
