That should be a great light. I just put this one,

http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewIt...s~vendor~.html

on my tank a month ago, and I love it. It also comes with the legs, splash shield, bulbs and fans.
You can find a lot of people who really like both of them.
Good luck with your choice!

I was worried that fixture might not be enough for SPS.

Thats my concern. I just found a fixture just like that tek fixture for $180. 6 54w T5's but I dont know if i should just spend the money on Metal Halides.

its enough for SPS, I doubt you can find one like the TEK, you really need something with individual reflectors. I have always used halides and I dont see myself ever going back

I've got the same fixture, the T5's are great lights, (in spite of the mh trolls) I don't have a pic ion this computer, but I have lsp, sps and an anemone in my tank and they look great. BTW, you can get it for less from reefgeek.com when you look at their price including the bulbs.

Thanks Dwilly. What size of tank do you have this fixture on? I had given up on anybody else posting up. I know there has got to be more than two or three people with this fixture. I am just trying to get some real, honest feedback before spending so much.

You can get the same price with bulbs at premiumaquatics. Just tell them to match the price

I don't know what happened to the link, but I was referring to the Nova Extreme Pro 6 light T5 fixture. Maybe this link will work.

There is also a lot of information on these in this thread.

Good luck!

Good luck!

Thanks! by coincidence, I just finished reading through that same thread. Alot of good info. Since you actually have a NEP fixture, can you tell me if it actually has individual reflectors? Or, is it a single reflector contoured to each bulb? You have any problem keeping SPS anywhere in your tank?

I like both the SLS Tek light and the Aquactinics TX5. With the Tek light, don't use the acrylic shield and keep the fixture around 5" above the top of the tank and it works great. With the Aquactinics, the TX5 seems to mix the colors better than the Tek light because of it's shape. Everyone says the Tx5 with 5x54w is equivalent light to SLS Tek 6x54w.

There's a place with better pricing. Email me if you need another place.

I have heard that from some of the local crew as well. But the Aquactinics were a higher price if I remember correctly. Also, I was worried 5 lights would not be enough for SPS.

I read a thread somewhre on RC about those shields. I heard they were melting due to heat, but drill a couple of small holes fixed that problem.
