huge hermit crab rappid growth?
I have a hermit crab that has grown to an incredible size. I mean I've never seen one get this big. He has a 5" shell now and he eats a whole silverside to himself now. I had to take him out of the reef tank a while back because he was being to destructive as far as catching other fish and inverts. I'm actually considering selling him.
I'm wondering is this normal? |

If it's that big, then it's probably not your average blue leg hermit.
I bought a couple giant hermits for my last tank, and they sound almost like wha you are describing. They werne't a problem in my tank, because it was stocked with large fish and no corals. If your hermit is being destructive, eating other fish and inverts, then by all means remove him and put him in the sump untill you can find him a better home.
