confuse with par 38 and br 30 light?

Looking to buy a pc flood light bulb at home depot for my fuge. THEY have one that is a br 30 6500 K. So what is the difference between a par 38 and the br 30 and will the br 30 work on a fuge for chaetomorpha?

Don't know which one will work best for you, but I can comment
that "PAR" and "BR" designate different shapes. "BR" is made of the same material as a regular bulb, but in a different shape. "PAR" is entirely different, it has a reflector surface that reflects the light forward. "PAR" will probably cost a little more, but you will get more light for the same wattage.

"38" and "30" are the diameters
"38": 38/8 = 4 3/4
"30": 30/8 = 3 3/4
