clownfish are kinda boring imo,
1 six line royal gramma lawnmower blenny (funny fish) OR yellow watchmen goby with pistol shrimp (hours of entertainment) |

I like the idea of a trio of flasher wrasses and then a blenny (starry, black sailfin, or bicolor are some of my favs). The trio of wrasses is something different if you don't like clowns.

4 fish is too many for a 29 reef tank. Even if you go with the smallest fish out there, 4 will most likely overload your bio-filtration.

IMO, no matter how many people posted the 4 is the magic number, I think you'll find that 4 overloads your tank. Good luck with whichever number you decide to go with.

My 29 had 3 Blue-Green chromis and a pair of clowns. I had a "bicolor psendochromis" for a while... never get one of these again. That fish was VERY aggressive and had to be removed.
