Any T5 supplemented with VHO actinic?
It's pretty well established in our extended community that T5's are great, and work.
However the intensity and spectrum of the actinic VHO bulbs have yet to be rivaled, no matter how close. So maybe I missed it as I dont travel around these parts and troll the LPS forum mostly but would love to see if people are lighting there tanks with T5 and supplementing with the tried and true VHO for actinics..I know a few have considered this already, some have made the leap. Im on the fence and am about to make the leap, for yet another experiment. Seems I always have to give my self a catalyst when things finally are settling in... But would like to have an idea of what I may be jumping into..Who knows.. maybe that missing link?? Success? Horror? Please share -Justin |

Interesting idea, and doubt few if any have tried it.
Considering, most who hold VHO Actinics in high opinion probably keep SPS and have been around awhile. Being so, they most likely have MH, with an overwhelming majority having SE bulbs. In fact, given the evolution of the technology, I doubt anyone does. Id like to see you do it as I didn't understand the whole VHO allure until I saw a couple tanks lit with them. They add that little bit of.......Je ne sais quoi that has me considering stuffing them above the cube tank I am doing next.
