Ro/DI water

Can I use the waste water to do water changes on my fresh water aquarium ? I mean it has been filtered right ?

I use the wastewater all the time on all my tanks. It has been filtered by the micron cartridge and the carbon, so i really like using that water to add elements back to the water.

thanks. One more question. How long can i store the RO/DI water in those 5 gallon buckets with the caps ?
